For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central Georgia and central South Carolina. * WHEN...For the Lake Wind Advisory, until 2 AM EDT Tuesday. For the Freeze Warning, from 4 AM to 10 AM EDT Tuesday. For the Freeze Watch, from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Information: Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. |

At 353 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong showers and storms along a line extending from near Marvin to 6 miles southeast of Burtons Ferry Landing. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Columbia, Sumter, West Columbia, Orangeburg, Cayce, Forest Acres, Lancaster, Camden, Barnwell, Bamberg, Denmark, Bishopville, Springdale, Dentsville, Oak Grove, South Sumter, Shaw Air Base, Lake Wateree Dam, Brookdale, and St. Andrews. This includes the following highways... Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 61 and 117. Interstate 26 between mile markers 105 and 169.
